Working with research partner ClearPath Strategies, the OpenStack Foundation conducted global quantitative and qualitative research, including a survey of 501 IT professionals and execs, four focus groups in Seattle and Beijing, and four in-depth interviews with open source influencers. The research produced the following takeaways: foundations are good for open source, open source increases productivity and adds value for companies, and the concept of “open infrastructure” is useful if you are able to define it.
